Trained fire fighters from around the Portland community volunteer as camp staff. The fire fighters challenge campers to experience what being an emergency responder is all about. In teams of 10, campers suit up in real firefighting gear complete with boots, jacket and helmet and set out to complete a challenge course with obstacles, including a dark tent filled with machine generated smoke. At the end of the course campers get to experience spraying a real fire hose. The campers finish the course with smiles and excitement after completing the “Fire Dawg Challenge”
