Day 7: Good Citizens TAKE A VACATION
This is not a goodbye but a “see you soon”
Camp Rosenbaum in a Bag is just that: a backpack filled with camp activities for home. The backpacks included an activity schedule and fun things to bring a bit of Camp to the kids. Backpacks also included foam footballs, books, journals, arts & crafts activities, science experiments and more. In addition, they included a basic personal care kit and educational activities from our partnering first responder agencies.
Backpacks were delivered to children, ages 9-12, who live in low-income housing in Oregon and SW Washington. We needed your help to get backpacks to our community and you heard us. At the low cost of $40 per backpack, we received a record amount of sponsors and were able to provide 1,000 backpacks to children in Oregon and SW Washington so THANK YOU!
Camp Rosenbaum began in 1970 with a dream: take a group of youth from low-income families and spend a week with them at Oregon’s beautiful coast, teaching them the value of good citizenship and encouraging their self-confidence. With our partners – Oregon National Guard, Portland Police Bureau and Home Forward – we provide kids with positive role models, healthy relationships with public safety figures and maybe most importantly, fun! Thank you for helping us keep General Rosenbaum’s dream alive during 2020.
