INFORMATION
Camp Rosenbaum has developed educational savings accounts for our campers to show them that we care about their goals and dreams for the future! In previous years, these accounts were only for youth who attended Camp Rosenbaum through Home Forward or Washington County Housing Authority but we are starting a new program that is modeled after a traditional educational grant. The only caveat to applying is that the youth must have attended our overnight camp and is currently in high school.
The revamped Star Fund will transition from an automatic allocation model to a competitive scholarship program. It will continue to honor Camp Rosenbaum’s mission of supporting campers in achieving their educational and professional aspirations while addressing equity among housing authorities and ensuring financial sustainability.
This approach ensures the Star Fund is equitable, financially viable, and impactful for Camp Rosenbaum’s community. By allowing all campers to apply and enabling reapplications, the revamped Star Fund not only addresses concerns of fairness but also reinforces the values of persistence, growth, and opportunity. This approach ensures that every camper has a genuine chance to succeed and aligns with Camp Rosenbaum’s overarching mission to inspire hope and positive change.
*If a camper is enrolled in the Star Fund program but does not graduate or enroll in furthering education, they will not receive the funds. Additionally, if a camper was accepted in the previous Star Fund program, their benefits would not change.
